The term 'anglo-saxon' is used to designate English speaking countries such as the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the countries where English is spoken as an official language. As a linguistic marker, the adjective can also be discribing the culture, the legal system (common law), economic model, etc. that these countries tend to use.
